SuSE 9.2 takes two attempts to restart. If I logout and select restart from kicker, it doesn't restart the computer until I do it twice. The first time the machine just sits there like nothing happened. I didn't see anything odd in the system log. This started occuring after I deleted my user and created another. (long story that started with no system sound, which is now working) Anyone ever run into this?

does this happen if you are logged in as root and then reboot or only with this new user account?

It only happens logged on as that user ( I only have one). As root all functions normally.

This same scenerio actually happened to me a few weeks back, as well. In the end, because I had to install another OS for a review, I ended up reinstalling Suse agian and it hasn't happened since. I've experienced the same problem though when running as "user."

harryc,
Do you see the same behavior if you try restarting from a command line? |

Thanks for the replies. I have reinstalled SuSE and all is working again.
