That was fixed IIRC by removing the kde-multimedia package, and using KAMix instead of Kmix (or vice versa - I know its use the one not the other)!

Thanks for the reply, and again, for the fix of my previous issue.
As for my volume icon not showing when the system boots, your suggested fix resolved the issue when I ran 9.1 but not for 9.2 pro. I dont have a "kde-multimedia" package. I do have several "kdemultimedia3*" packages. Also, I dont have kamix, but I have QaMix and gamix though. funny, I have the same issue with XP.
