I dont even know what I might of done to break it this time, but when I open the GUI yast and click on anything, I get nothing. I have been trying to use synaptic to reload yast and geep on getting errors that will not let me update it. Even in the console using just yast I get this:
Segmentation fault at /usr/share/YaST2/clients/menu.ycp:27
/sbin/yast: line 185: 12460 Segmentation fault $ybindir/y2base menu ncurses
linux:/home/sramos/yast #
linux:/home/sramos/yast #
and it locks up the console, where I have to do the three finger salute ( ctrl alt esc) Did M$ make suse? (just kidding) Is there a place where you can download yast all by itself and reload it? After messing around in synaptic for a while yast2 comes up with just a few things in the menus and none of them work. YOU is dead as well. Anyone have any ideas at all, they would be appreciated. Me so sad I just want it to work again.

You can always run the repair off the install disks. That should fix Yast.

bummer, I did the ftp download thing. I am downloading the 9.1 personal .iso to give it a try, to maybe be able to fix it with it. I am using 9.1 pro now. Also I think that there is something like a repair on the ftp boot.iso that I will try. I looked around the ftp site and found a yast repair rpm which I was not able to get to load correctly.
Fun fun

should be an easy fix.

You were on the right track, but the track is a little confusing at first:

1) Boot cd1, DO NOT select 'repair'
2) Select Installation
3) Once yast starts, and goes through it's stuffs, it will prompt about 'new installation, repair existing, etc' (note , this is the LAST step befor yast begins writing to your harddrive)- of which you select 'repair installed/automatic repair' or whatever.
4) See what it finds, and let it continue.

Not too bad.
and it repaired my yast yeah!!
