I'm going 64 Bit soon, and I'd like to know what Socket 939
motherboards there are that I can use. I'm interested in SATA in particular. Thanks, Rid**** |

I don't run a 64 bit system, but all of the major manufacturers have 64 bit MBs available. Asus, MSI, DFI, Abit, etc., have all been in business and building motherboards for quite a while. I don't think you will go wrong with any of them. I am fond of DFI and Asus myself, but its 6 of one and a half dozen of the other. They are all reputable and reliable. Just look for the features that you need or want.

I'm using an MSI K8T NEO-FSR with VIA K8T800 chipset, Athlon64 3200+. No problems here.

I have a P4 that ran Suse 9.1 on a SATA drive no problems. My MSI AMD64 also does too, only drives installed are 3 SATA drives.

while i would usually recommend any asus board since i think they are one of the best out there, i wouldnt recommend the a8v. last night i tried putting one together with an athlon 64 3800+, boot it up, and the lady tells me "system failed due to cpu overclocking." no post, no bios, no display, nothing. this was a brand new processor and everything. after researching the net for solutions to my problem i noticed that this problem is not all that uncommon. i just sent the board back for an MSI so we'll see how that does.
