When KDE starts up when I start the computer or "end session" and log in, I get a message at the top left side of the screen (little yellow blimp message), that states the following:
The powersave daemon's is not running or you are not a member of the powersave group. Starting it will improve performance. usr/bin/rcpowersave start Now, being new to Linux, I don't know what this means, or how to turn it on. I'm on a stand alone computer. Can someone tell me how to turn this on and leave it on so that I can boost my "perfromance"? Thanks! UPDATE: Simply right click on the plug icon in the tray bar and click "Quit". It will then ask you if you want it loaded at next startup. :-) |

Not much help here, but your not the only one. I also get this, and there doesnt appear to be the user group which it specifies, and also the file it points to is not on the system.
I can't even find it in Yast ..

I think I have found the solution here. I believe that has to do wtih power management, (applicable to laptops). If you find that little blimpy displaying at startup, you probably also have a little "plug" like icon in your system tray. Simply right click on the plug icon, and click Quit. It will then ask you if you want it to start again at startup. Click "No", and you won't be bothered by the blimpy.
