recently gkrellm say`s there are 2 users logged on, I don`t get it....if i type users at the prompt it says 3 times my login name, but who is the other user??

No when i log on as root this becomes the third user, normaly when i log into my acountt there`s only one user, but since a day or so there are 2 ... It just came to mind that this started
after a recent problem...everywere i put my cursor there apeared zero`s... this stopt after a while...COULD I HAVE A VIRUS????.... the problem with the zero`s i reported to SuSE..no awnser yet... |

I've seen this too in kde. When I've checked what processes are running, some are mine, others are root. That should explain the 2 users.

I think i get it now, i typed w -f
says, i`m logged on tty :0 and pts/0... i don`t know what this means.. but it`s ok, i now have something to puzzle... stil leaves the question what i did to log on two different places??? |

If you start another shell for example, you will see three consoles logged in with your username. Also you can cross check with the login time shown in the 'w -f' command it is roughly about the time you started a shell. You should be concerned only if the number of open consoles is more than the number of currently open shells plus one (for the :0 terminal). |
