It tells sax2 that it should use the module nvidia for your first card, so you force the driver nvidia (instead of nv, which is used by default)!

Thnx Viras

I still dont understand the added tags for the sh command.... how do i type it in if my kernel is 2.6.5-7.95-smp

"sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6106-pkg1.run --kernel-source-path=/usr/src/linux"

what do i change in that line?

Anyone who can tell me the proper full command to enter would be much apreciated.

That is the proper full command as long as the kernel sources are installed.

All right! I did the install and I have 3d graphics working and it seems pretty fast!

(by fast I mean rotating around over 1.3 million polygons realtime in houdini full screen at 1280 by 1024 B) .)

However I have some left over questions.

1. I got some errors durring the install stating that it had to connect over the internet to get its own compiler thingy and later it stated that a driver was previously installed and it would do its best job to get rid of it. ........erg

2. It also stated that there was a rivafb included in the kernel module and that it would fight with the nvidia driver.

What does this all mean? and If i do a clean install without updating the nvidia graphics patch with YOU will i avoid this rivafb problem? (is it a big problem?)

1. is normal if you ever compiled your own driver that fits your kernel version. The removing will be successful, don't worry about it.

2. Not sure about that, never got that warning. AFAIK if you use the standard kernel you shouldn't have any problems.
