I am using Suse 10.3 and the uname -a output is as follows:-
2.6.22.5-31-default #1 SMP 2007/09/21 22:29:00 UTC x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
The hardware is a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo laptop setup with Grub and Windows Vista.
I you need more info to help let me know exactly what you need.

The problem:-

I logout and shutdown from my ordinary user account on Gnome and then shut the machine down
(disconnect the power and remove the battery!) and when I switch the machine back on and it logs
me straight back into Gnome without asking for a password.
The same happens if I shut the machine down straight from Gnome.

Any ideas? I am worried by this.

To check on a possible configuration cause, run Yast2/Security and Users/User Management.

Click on "Expert Options" at the bottom of the page.

Click on "Login Settings" to determine if "Auto Login" is checked.

If so, turn it off, a vacant square.

Do some man research.
