No Sound?

I noticed when i was playing mp3's on my vlc, the music does not play music.
Afterwards, i checked my sound and i tested my alsa and i ended up with this error

gconfaudiosrc ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile=chat: Could not open resource for writing.

Help please guys, i want my sound back.
