Hello,
I just installed openSuse 10.3 x86_64, in text mode..
No problems at installation, but now i am trying to update the system and I cannot..
All the previous versions have yast -> Software -> ONLINE UPDATE
10.3 it does not..I have registered my server, repositories have been added succesfully, I have added one manually too..

This is yast: Software on left hand, then on right:

│Software Management
│Add-On Product
│Automatic Online Update
│Community Repositories
│Installation into Directory
│Media Check
│Online Update Configuration
│Software Repositories

I have gone thru all these submenus above in yast, but there is no way I can do the updates..
I have googled it, but didn't find any answer..

Any ideas? Obvioulsy I am missing something, but I don't know what

Thanks

I have the following:
Main repository (OSS) - Yast (http://download.opensuse.org/reposit...10.3/standard/)

OpenSuse 10.3 updates -YUM - (http://download.opensuse.org/update/10.3/)

Main Repository (NON-OSS) - Yast (http://download.opensuse.org/distrib.../repo/non-oss/)

Kernel.org - Yast (http://mirrors.kernel.org/opensuse/d.../10.3/repo/oss)

Thanks

Updates is good
Non-oss is good

You also need: oss (unless you are prepared to keep putting the dvd in)

and most will have: Packman

If you are new to Linux I would tend to say, only to use kernel updates from the Update repo.

Going back to your original question.

Make sure that in Software Repositories all the repos are "Enabled and Refresh" is on.

Go to Software Management. When it has loaded - filer by repositories.
Select Updates
Scroll the list on the right - Packages for Update are blue
Click the Packages tab at the top and choose "Update all in this list" if it's easier for you.
I always manually work through Packman and Updates.

Nevertheless - Online Update should work too.
But you must have Refresh on for Updates especially.
Some do disable refresh on oss and non-oss if their internet is limited.

Thanks caf4926..I am really struggling , I have been installing a lot of Suse versions, but this is the first time I have this problem..
Repositories (all of them) are set to Enable and Refresh, and I have refreshed manually too..
I do not have ONLINE UPDATE under SOFTWARE
I go to Software management and there are no blue markings, and there is no Update all in list..
If I go to Filter, I have an Update list, but when I select it, list is empty..
What is curious is that ONLINE UPDATE exists on the Graphical mode, but on text mode this submenu does not exist. I don't want to install graphical mode.
I did update outside yast thru zypper.."zypper up" will give me updates, but I want to do it thru yast..

Thanks
