Online Update Problems

When trying to update online my system hangs while installing ./RPM/i586/NSCD-2.6.1-18.3.i586.RPM . Installing individual patches and software goes OK , it is this one file that screws up the system. I would be grateful if anyone could offer an explanation or a fix for this issue. Second generation newbe.

What's the result of the following command run from a console?

rpm -qa | grep NCSD

Here's the patch -
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3?stat=26&am....i586.patch.rpm

Here's the RPM -
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3?stat=26&am...1-18.3.i586.rpm

You could try installing those manually, the way to approach it depends on what is installed already.

Thanks for your replies, however I ended up installing SuSe 10.2 over the 10.3 live installation and updating it online - everything is just perfect now.
