I had a similar problem while installing, actually.
In my case, what was happening was I had a video DVD in my DVD drive, and YaST was trying to find what it was looking for on said video (Which would have been incredibly awesome... OpenSUSE v.10.28 days later anyone?)
But yeah, Try checking your other drives for media. Your best shot is to get rid of ANYTHING that is not absolutely nessecary during the setup procedure. I'd even go as far as to dust off your old PS2 keyboard in favor of a USB one for the duration of the installation. here's why; YaST is built to install OpenSUSE from just about anything that can store data, so anything other than your one-disc install CD has potential to anger and confuse it.
If it CAN read a CD-R as was the case with my DVD drive, Try sticking the boot CD in their and giving it another go.
