when trying to install suse 10.1 (same prob with 9.3) dvd installation, dvd boot ok when starting pc, it move to the boot screen (where u choose what should u do next, boot from HD, install etc...), when I choose install it's telling me it can't recognize my dvd (the one I started the installatin from!!!).
I have tried the F4 thing in boot screen choosing DVD, still no help.
I have tried other installation method "ACPI Disabled" "safe mode" etc... no help.
I have tried to install from HD (in the text manual installation thing) this method bypass the main prob and installation start, but then it can't find my software package, so I can't go on with the installation process.

Any thought and ideas in helping me will be much grateful

What machine (manufacturer, model, homemade/mainboard?) is this and does it have an Intel chipset? Yes? Which one? For example, if it is an Intel Core Duo, you need to enable AHCI Mode in BIOS.

Try booting with the following option (F3 at the first installation screen)

insmod=ide-generic

I don't know where there is an F3 option that give you the option to put this command.

When the dvd boot is load I got the Boot Loader Screen with the following choices:

Boot From Hard disk
Installatin
Installatin -- ACPI Disabled
Installatin -- Load APIC Disabled
Installatin -- Safe Setting
Rescue System
Memory Test

F1 Help // F2 Language // F3 Other Options

when I press F3 it's looks like that : F3 1280X1024 (res set) // F4 DVD // F5 Driver

after entering Installation choice I got this message : "Could not find the Suse linux Installation CD. Activating maual setup program"

Already tried this one with F5 set to Yes (ask me for device name after clicking on installation), No, and File (ask me for location of driver file which I don't have)

I don't know any other way to tell you this, so this is my last attempt ...in the boot options box on the installation screen literally type 'insmod=ide-generic' (no quotes), select installation, then see what happens.
