Since 9.1 PRO or 9.2 (DVD) isn't CD downloadable, many are subjected to getting 9.1. Now I have 9.2 on DVD but many of the systems I play with are older and don't have them.

My question is this... Is there a way to download packages via VAST to make it comprable with the Pro version?

search66,

There is a FTP ISO download out there and you can jump on-line to pull down what you want.

Run a Search -- this has been an active topic for those that want to get 9.2 Pro.

If you are on the x86 arch then just go here and view the readme:

I think search66 means that installing by dvd is not an option.

You can still download the boot.iso for 9.2, burn to CD and do an ftp install.

Why can't you burn the DVD.ISO and install from DVD.....

From the README (which no one ever views):

"If you have a DVD burner, you can download the file
SUSE-Linux-9.2-FTP-DVD.iso (the file's exact size is 3363543040 Bytes!)
and burn it on a DVD to boot and install from it, just like you would
do with a DVD from a SUSE Linux 9.2 box edition."

LOL. I think if they renamed that file to DON'T_README then people might look at it.

Xian,

Yep -- again you are right.

As far as I can tell there are two paths to getting the full 9.2 Pro version -- outside of buying it.

1 - the one CD ISO version and then go for the FTP or
2 - d/l the full DVD ISO.

Just to keep all of this in perspective do you have both links?

I've been fielding a few questions about this recently. I'll then point them to the links. TIA.
