Hi there,
I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop, with a broken laptop LCD screen, so I am using an external CRT monitor until I get it fixed. Works fine with my current Mandriva 2008 setup. I use FN-F8 to switch from lcd output to CRT output. No problems there. Seeing all the news about OpenSuse 11 I got excited! And I am really looking forward trying it. So much even, that I did not wait any longer and downloaded the RC and burned it to CD. (The KDE4 version) Everything goes fine when booting from the KDE4 live CD. I can use FN + F8 to see the output on my CRT until it boots into X.org, then I cannot get the output on CRT anymore. It just does not do anything when pressing FN + F8. I can switch to the text based consoles (CTRL-F1-F2, etc) which display on my CRT, but going back to x with CTRL-F7 gives a black screen. AAAArgh I am so close... have seen the beautiful boot up screens (OpenSuse artwork beats all the other distros IMHO) but now I cant use it. How frustrating is that! Can anybody help me on this? How to boot up and force X.org to use my CRT as default output. Your help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks DJ Maseru Lesotho (Southern Africa) |
