This is driving me nuts. At home I have a Samsung 226BW (22" @ 1680x1050), at work I have a Samsung 206BW (20" @ 1680x1050). I'm running opensuse 10.3 on my T61 w/intel 965GM chipset. I setup dualhead, followed the opensuse xrandr wki instructions and got it to clone and display native resolution on my 226BW - xrandr worked like a charm.
I get to work, thinking I my 206BW will work just the same since it's the same monitor just smaller. I used the same xorg.conf as before and left all my settings the same. I setup my computer, connected it to the 206BW, booted it up, then ran the SAME xrandr script to clone and use 1680x1050 resolution. The 206BW ends up with the edges of the screen about a half inch off so I cannot see the bottom bar and other outlying areas of the screen. Also, the resolution isn't 1680x1050 even though xrandr says it is. It's a bit blurry which leads me to think it's using another resolution or something is wrong.
Any ideas on how I can get this working on my 206BW also? Do I have to specify mmxmm sizes or something? No idea why two of the same monitors, just 20" instead of 22", don't work exactly the same.
