Hello SUSE Forum,

My laptop display shows a ~ 2" black border at the edges instead of filling the physical screen.

I searched through earlier posts and found that this problem is fairly common, but I still wasn't able to make any progress.

I tried using Sax2 to adjust the display parameters, but nothing I did made any difference.

The laptop is a Sony PCG-FX140, 700 MHz Pentium III, 256 MB RAM, 14.1" XGA (1024x768) LCD screen, Intel 815 EM Chipset supposedly with "integrated 3D accelerator". It's running SUSE 10.3.

I am new to openSUSE and to Linux. SUSE is running fine although it does seem necessary to boot with "apci=off". Touchpad, sound, and internet connection all work.

Thanks in advance for any ideas or help!

Here is xorg.conf:
