Welcome to the forum!
First off I would get a stable running system before you try installing the eye candy. On the wireless. Here is a good how to...on getting it working. http://en.opensuse.org/Wireless_network_card You also have to go into Yast and configure your wireless card. Have you tried doing that? And this is also a good link for future reference. http://en.opensuse.org/Hardware On the video....Do you have the driver installed? Edit: Are you running 32 bit or 64 bit? |

but am not able to use it! the LED near the wireless card's switch glows blue. (as in a normal condition) 'n am using the 32bit version. Yup even i have installed the nVidia's graphics installer package. but the "sax" configuring utility is showing that your graphics card doesn't support 3-D. plz help me out.....my laptop DO hav the very best capabilites in terms of graphics etc etc. as it is using nVidia's latest mobile chipset 7150M. i need to run "compiz fusion" as an eye-candy management utility. |

As far as the Nvida driver check this link out here.
http://www.suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=45375&hl= 2nd post: After you install any Nvidia driver, there is a post-install configuration routine you have to go through to switch over from the stock driver to the Nvidia one. It's very easy. Just go to terminal and type su, enter root password then type init 3. You will go into text mode where you log in as root then type sax2 -r Sax2 should start and you can check to see if your card and monitor are recognized properly. After you exit and save your settings type reboot. That's it. As far as the wireless. If your card is installed you need wifi-radar,kwifi & knetwork manager to configure your connection. Any one of them will work and are fairly easy to use. |
