T61 running openSUSE 10.3 Everything was working fine until an update yesterday. Now my resolutions is off. SaX2 states that my card is Intel 965 GM, monitor Len Lenono LCD Monitor, resolution is 1400x900 WXGA; however, in Gnome resolution it states 1024x768 and I cannot change it. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? My background is 1400x900, I get a 1024x768 size desktop.

This seems to be a common problem with this chipset and gnome. I don't have this chipset in my Z60m ThinkPad, but I've seen a number of posts recommend configuration with the xrandr tool.

This link suggests a how to set the desired resolution with xrandr.

A useful X RandR ThinkWiki how to.

I hope it works for you.
