S3 Savage Twister Graphics Card

Ok so I have been looking into everything I can get my hands on trying to get this Compaq 725US screaming and in 3D or accelerated....and this is a brick wall...sorta...

OK so I have found what I believe to be VIA's source code for the particular driver for the Savage Twister cards...but it is looking for root/xc which does not exist...do I need to manually make a folder in root called xc?

Of XFree86, Xorg, and Sax2: Here is my newbiness coming out....this driver needs (assumes that) XFree86 be installed....my question is...are the protocols the same for XFree86 versus Sax2....at some point I thought I remembered some change between Xfree and something.....LOL

Is there a way or does someone have an RPM that I can get that I am just missing or should I go dig in and do the src files?

Any help I can get for this would be awesome
