Since the other post was getting the driver installed, I found it more beneficial to start a new thread as it's a new problem.

Well using the other post I now have the nvidia driver intalled, desktop effects enabled. Now at work, I would normally plug in the monitor, terminal, run nivia-settings, change to twin-view and things would be fine. Since the change to OpenSuse, nvidia is now running.

If I run nvidia-settings, I cant a popup saying;
"You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X configuration file (just run `nvidia-xconfig` as root), and restart the X server. "

I do run the nvidia-xconfig, restart X with the same results. I know it's still a bit buggy, as under desktop effects, if I change any settings I crash with the white screen (no debug), but has anyone gotten past this as I assume if you are going to run the nvidia driver you will want the -settings to make your changes.

thanks.

This is the same problem I believe discussed inhttp://www.suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=40693

However, seems no one has come into the solution yet.
