    + /usr/sbin/s2ram
    Machine is unknown.
    This machine can be identified by:
    sys_vendor = "Acer"
    sys_product = "Aspire 9300"
    sys_version = "0100 "
    bios_version = "V1.15"
    See http://suspend.sf.net/s2ram-support.html for details.

    This part here indicates that s2ram, which openSUSE uses for handling suspend functionality, doesn't recognize your system, and fails gracefully by not attempting to suspend.

    Have a look at the wiki page here: http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram for more details. You'll have to experiment with settings in order to force s2ram to attempt a suspend. You may want to google your particular laptop model to see if users in other distributions have any pointers or success, as well.

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers,
    KV
