I have a Dell Inspiron 1000 that I was running Ubuntu FF. I don't really care for Gnome.
But FF worked ok except the touch pad I could never adjust to my liking.
Now I got this laptop for free "best kind" Grin

I installed 10.3 on this laptop using 10.3 DVD/KDE
From Start to finish it probably took me about 2:15 minutes to do.And that is updates and transferring files to my home and just general tweaking.
It also has the latest kernel 2.6.22.9-04. Temp runs 53C
It has an SIS video card which doesn't seem to support 3D. Which I need to do some checking.
Wireless card wasn't installed.
But all it took was adding Madwifi repro in yast and it downloaded files and I configured my pass phrase
And I was good to go.
Overall all it seems solid and polished.
But maybe a little slower than Ubuntu. But then again speed Kills
10.3 is a keeper.

Neat! Thanks for the update.

Please, could you add an Inspiron 1000 row to the matrix on this openSUSE wiki:
http://en.opensuse.org/HCL/Laptops/Dell
(between the Inspiron 700m and Inspiron 1100) very very briefly reflecting your 10.3 experiences. ....

If you have difficulty with the wiki, you can PM me, and I'll try to fill it in the matrix (with the information you provide in the PM).

Thanks for you help.
