rc3 of alsa-1.0.14 was released today. In the release notes
http://www.alsa-project.org/changes/v1-0-1...-v1-0-14rc3.txt
one can find the following lines:
Seems like we're almost there....

Pequisp,

Sorry that I haven't answered your questions, but I have moved to Ubuntu. More stable, more automatic and, most importantly, fast updates.... I am in Brazil and I never acomplished to update suse... With Ubuntu and apt-get, it is like I am updating from the machine across the room.

Anyway, hope the topic is of use for other suse users.

Pequisp: install automatix and then, from automatix, install everything related to video (divx, v4l, wincodecs, etc....).

I think that will solve your problem....

... or see you at the ubuntu forums :-)

Henrique,

Used svn to get the UVC driver and installed it:

svn checkout svn://svn.berlios.de/linux-uvc/linux-uvc/trunk
cd trunk
make (as root)
make install (as root)
modprobe uvcvideo
[/b]
I have just got the same uvc driver but am having problems installing it.

When I download it and untar it, I try to "make" it but it fails saying "No rule to make target 'webcam'. Stop."

What does this mean? Do you know of a way around it?

Many thanks

Luke
