I see from a posting in Ubuntu and then tracing back to initially, the french site, and in fact the european site has this driver available for linux, and the guides available in multiple languages; the body of the 2500 looks very like the 5000 series

Is that known at Linux Printing dot org too? That's my first port of call for drivers and setup help.
