Just in case anyone else is stumped by the non-appearance of the right resolution options when configuring display in Yast, I went to init 3, ran sax2 and lo! there was my screen correctly recognised and sized. Just Clicked 'Save' and that was that. See original post below for problem.

sax2 is your friend!

Original post.
Hello,

I'm trying to get a display resolution of 1680 by 1050 on the LG L226WTQ. Tried a few things but
still can't see that res as an option in Yast. I clicked the 'have utility disk' option and showed it the
drive CD (Windows) , that at least brought up the correct model in the list.

Reading around I gather there is a mod to xorg.conf to set these options.
Would anyone have a working modeline for this monitor?

Currently I have this:

Section "Modes"
Identifier "Modes[0]"
Modeline "1280x1024" 135 1280 1296 1440 1688 1024 1025 1028 1066 +hsync +vsync
Modeline "1680x1050@60" 154.20 1680 1712 2296 2328 1050 1071 1081 1103
EndSection

I added the second modeline (having tried the modeline generator athttp://xtiming.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/xtiming.pl) but still don't see the 1680 option in Yast.

At present the I have a horizontally stretched display (1280) that is perfectly usable but not very cutting edge...;-)

Any help much appreciated.
