Hi,

I am running openSUSE 10.3 on a fujitsu-siemens M7425 laptop and it seems that the embedded media cards slot is not recognised by the system.

I'd appreciate any hint to fix this problem.

Thks!

A search doesn't give much hope. One web page was by a Debian user who didn't try to get the card reader working before moving away from Debian. The other was a SUSE 9.1 user whose page doesn't exist any more.

You could try finding out what controller chip the reader uses and the see if you can find a Linux driver for that chip. It depends on what bus the chip is on, PCI or USB or maybe neither.

A lot of chips don't have drivers because manufacturers don't provide information to write a driver, and worse still they are not being manufactured any more so there is little interest in them now.

If you turn up nothing, then go out and buy a USB card reader, hopefully you have USB 2.0.
