How do I install or enable 3D support for my nVidia GS 8400? Just changed from Ubuntu. Things are done differently here. I'm using the beta version of OpenSuse.

Thanks.

Hi Chris,

There is a known bug report and a patch available, for the most annoying bugs have a look here : http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:Most_Annoying_Bugs_11.0_dev

The report and patch for NVidia in Beta 11 : http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-k.../msg00119.html

Also there is a beta NVidia driver that can be used that should build and is available through the NVidia site (see the most annoying bugs for a link)

Hope it helps,
Wj

Ps. For ATI and NVidia to get full 3D support you need the 'closed source' drivers. openSUSE does not include these by default because thier policy is all default software should be OSS. There is a good howto (and many more) on the opensuse.org site you can find here : http://en.opensuse.org/NVIDIA
