    Hi!

Is there a chance to run a Dell 1320c color laser on opensuse 10.2?
At the moment i can't find nothing at all about this topic.

I don't see where the Dell Color Lasers have any Linux drivers available. Strange.

I wanted a color laser a while back. While shopping, I found that the CN3100N had SUSE drivers. None of the lower level printers such as the CN1320 had Linux support. I opted to pay a good bit more to get the CN3100N. Looking now, the Linux drivers are not available or mentioned anywhere on there site.

I have the SUSE driver for the 3110 and have uploaded it to my homepage. I don't know if it will work with the 1320. You can give it a shot.

    http://myweb.cableone.net/arcanna/printer/....0-1.noarch.rpm

Download the file and click then select Install With YAST. This will install the driver.

In YAST > Printers, install the printer as an LPD printer.

I've tried it, but no luck :-(
But anyway, thank you for your advice!

I got the 1320c to run under Ubuntu, the procedure was following:

    1.
Download the Linux driver for the Xerox DocuPrint C525 Printer:
    ftp://ftp.fxa.com.au/drivers/dpc525a/dpc5...ux_.0.0.tar.zip

    2.
    Unpack

    3.
Ubuntu/Debian stuff to convert rpm to something installable:
    $ sudo alien -d Fuji_Xerox-DocuPrint_C525_A_AP-1.0-1.i386.rpm

    4.
    Install the driver:
    $dpkg -i fuji-xerox-docuprint-c525-a-ap_1.0-2_i386.deb

    5.
Install the printer (it is detected by cups) and use the installed driver (it is under the FX tab)
Optionally choose install driver manually from the file (it is placed there by the "dpkg -i fuji-..."): /usr/share/cups/model/FujiXerox/en/FX_DocuPrint_C525_A_AP.ppd

    6.
In CUPS printer settings under the Optional Components set up the 250 Sheet Tray, along with A4 page size.

I got the Dell working on my Xubuntu platform using Zbigniew's instructions. One additional task for me in any event:

    - browse to http://localhost:631/ and restart printer. After that I am printing perfectly.
