Just because you have 2 channel sound does not mean it works. ... snipped .... It is NOT supported in Linux.

Interesting link. It states in the review that "basic" sound is NOT supported, yet 2-channel sound does work on my Asus_A7N8X, and while it is NOT 6.1 surround, it still gives good sound for my purposes (two desktop speakers, used for background music and the occasional movie). I've never wanted 6.1 surround, and I have always been very happy with the sound on my Asus_A7N8X under linux. And it configured automatically on my SuSE-9.1, 9.2 and 9.3.

So the 2-channel sound is worse than basic (since the URL states basic sound is not supported)? .... And just what is the definition of basic sound?

And having only 2-channel sound means in the view of some that the motherboards sound is NOT supported and doesn't work? A shameful use of adjectives IMHO, and an inexact article. (And SuSE-8.1 is not exactly the most recent SuSE on the block). The excessive use of adjectives in making a point is confusing to users, and is counterproductive.

Hi all!

I try to install openSUSE 10.2. But linux does not want finds SATA disk. Now I use линукс. SuSE 10.1 has found the disk without problems. I think that the problem in the module of a kernel sata_nv. Does anybody knows where to take last version sata_nv? Is it possible to use the module sata_nv from SuSE 10.1 distribution? If yes, how?

I use:
Mainboard: Asus K8N4-E Deluxe
HD: Baracuda 7200 80GB ST380817AS

P.S. Sorry for my bad english.
