Hello all,

I recently upgraded to a 64bit processor (AMD), and decided to install openSUSE 64bit.

I did a fresh install, everything went fine. I added the repositories by following the steps on this page:

http://opensuse-community.org/Repositories/10.3

The performed an update.

YAST kept erroring out on the KDE portion of the update.

I then loaded smart via the instructions on this page:

http://dev-loki.blogspot.com/2007/10/smart...ensuse-103.html

SMART even errored out while trying to update.

How can one install openSUSE 64bit and perform the necessary updates?

I since reverted back to 32-bit version of openSUSE until I can get the update problems resolved.

Any ideas why I the update on openSUSE 10.3 64-bit errors out?

probably a timeout on the server. if that is the case, use a mirror nearest to you

I'm not sure how to set up a mirror in YAST. Can you clarify?

The only problem with mirrors is they have to be sync'd.

Go to: http://en.opensuse.org/Mirrors_Released_Version
pick one near you
use the file tree up/down & find what you are looking for

If you don't find it there, try another mirror

I like to start @ http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/

If they are having trouble, then I go to a mirror.
