Hey all went to the above site to get details on starting compiz what I get just hangs and instead of going to xgl I end up having to go back to Xorg. can I get a hand I am running SUSE10.3 on HP Pavilion dv9000. :unsure:

I had the same issue initially, and this page helped a great deal: http://en.opensuse.org/Compiz_Fusion

I've found out that the 64bit version tends to have a few hickups here or there on my Pavilion. I've had a good few frustrating hours getting SuSE 10.3 to run as smoothly as 10.2 did. I never had any trouble using 10.2 on my laptop.
Then, one day, I remembered I had the 32bit version of 10.2 installed and the 64bit version of 10.3.
I downloaded the 32bit 10.3 version, installed it and presto, troubles are gone.
Don't ask me how, why or whatever the F, it simply works a lot smoother.
