Hi, i recently tried to enable my wlan card.
I am using 9.3 64-bit over a year now with no issues for my work. The built-in cards both ethernet and wireless could not work out of the box. Ethernet card was easy to install driver e1000, but wireless is a pain in my *** ndiswrapper of the distro was version 1.1 After moving to latest kernel 2.6.11.4-21.7-smp had to find a newer ndiswrapper. Version 1.2-1-37 could compile in my system but although i have downloaded Windows XP-64 bit inf file from intel i cannot get it to work since ndiswrapper cannot load well the driver. module is loaded on kernel but there is a message 'wrong driver' I downloaded latest ndiswrapper 1.5x but could not compile The second thought is to try microcode, demon ipw3945,intel driver approach herehttp://ipw3945.sourceforge.net/ Should it work that? Is there any other approach or the kernel is too old for any approach i am trying? |

Um, part of the problem might be your using 9.3. It's a little out of date, so the latest ndiswrapper and drivers might not work at all.
Just a thought. You might want to try 10.3, it's cool! |

Unfortunately due to work platform limitation (compatibility) i cannot move at 10.x at this
time although i wanted that. So any solution? |

Since that thehttp://ipw3945.sourceforge.net/ won't work with my kernel,
because that is what said the support by e-mail. So i am looking for a ndiswrapper version that compiles on 2.6.11.4-21.7-smp of Suse 9.3 Professional x86_64 and the appropriate 64-bit Windows driver... |
