Thumbs up

I've just completed a fresh installation of the 64bit version of 10.3 on an HP Proliant DL140 (4 Xeon 64-bit processors and ATI Rage graphics) and I'm having trouble with Eclipse starting (Eclipse Europa Winter Maintenance Packages - Linux x86_64).

I've installed the amd64 bit version of JDK 6 as suggested in another thread regarding issues with Eclipse, but the program still crashes upon starting. The Eclipse splash screen pops up momentarily, but I'm then met with a bug report.

I'm relatively new to Linux, so keep this in mind with your helpful responses.

Also, the Linux computer is not connected to the internet, so any patches would need to be physically transfered to the machine. My point is, if you know of a specific fix, please point me to the explicit files to download as opposed to simply running an update program.

Thanks in advance!

If any requests it, I will post the bugreport text.

Default

On a whim I tried switching from the default GNOME desktop to KDE and now Eclipse starts just fine.....
