so I'm running the x86_64 version of 10.3 (KDE and XFCE), this is my second install (my own fault that I killed the first one) and there have been a few things that worked the first time around, but not this second. Most of them related to flash.
I already took care of flash for firefox, thanks to this forum, but I can't get it to work again in Opera or Konqueror. Opera just shows blank areas where flash programs should be running, and Konqueror runs flash until I click on the page...anywhere on the page. then I get the KDE Crash Handler that "The application Konqueror crashed and caused the signal 11 (sigsegv)" But I'm least worried about Konqueror, I'd rather focus on Opera since Konqueror is working fine for browsing my files. if I go to tools>advanced>Plugins I have Shockwave Flash application/futuresplash spl application/x-shockwave-flash swf /usr/lib/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so I'm not sure what those specifically are refering to, other than it seems Opera knows that I do have flash installed. in tools>quick preferences "enable plugins" is checked further plugin options allow me to edit the path to plugins, currently set as /usr/lib/opera/plugins:/usr/lib64/browser-plugins:/usr/lib/browser-plugins:/home/gir/plugins:/home/gir/.mozilla/plugins:/usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins I"m not sure what else to check, or what would need to be edited. |

If you're running any of the 9.2x versions of Opera then flash won't work.
Upgrade to the 9.50 beta, it all works out of the box Good luck |

There is a problem with the latest flash is buggy in opera, this would be version: 9,0,115,0.
if you can find 9.0.31.0 you should not have trouble with it on opera. also check one other things first, tools/preferences/advanced tab , click the plugins options button. in the window that opens there is a button on the upper right that is makred find new... click that. opera will search for plugins on your system that it has not seen before and use them. close the window and then restart opera. and try a flash video to see if it plays (providing that search came up with new plugins) if not check the version of flash installed make sure it isnt 9.0.115.0 version. As i recall the SUSE repositories has the 9.0.31. version.. |

so, I tried installing Opera 9.5b and it started causing some issues with Java in my other browsers...wonderful, trying to find some other way around that....luckily I can now open flash items in opera....
I did try changing to version 9.0.31 but I couldn't find any active downloads (yast had 9.0.115) and any links for 9.0.31 led me to adobe's most current which seems to be 9.0.115. when searching for new plugins all opera found was 3 instances of adobe reader 8.0. I guess it's 9.5b for me, for now
