Hello,

I recently purchased Matlab R2007a student edition.

It installed fine and runs well. Unfortunately, there is a problem with the GUI. It does not load!

After much investigation, I believe that it is related to java. It does not detect it:

EDU>> version -java

ans =

Java is not enabled

EDU>>

Unfortunately, nothing I've tried seems to work.

Sun's Java has been installed via YaST and works for other programs.

java -version
java version "1.5.0_14"
Java™ 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_14-b03)
Java HotSpot™ 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.5.0_14-b03, mixed mode)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
