I had a little free time this afternoon and having had my boxed 10,3 on the shelf for a week or more, I did an install on my established 10.2 x86-64 BIOS Raid0 array.

The 1st time I tried (during partitioning), I had to reboot into 10.2 and copy down all the raid partition info as I hadn't a clue what they all were. The actual install was uneventful and it even told me I forgot to establish the /boot partition. Once that was done, the install was as normal.

Upon a reboot, however, I found that it had mangled my 10.3 x86-64 GM install''s menu.lst section & I had to fix that. Now, all is well

BTW,I love 10.3's boot speed in this array -- 5 to 6 times faster than 10.2.

Why two installs? Ans = one to experiment with & one to keep standard issue.

BIOS raid works!

Have fun...
