Thumbs up

Computer specifications:

Intel Celeron D Processor 352 (3.2 gHz)
512 MB DDR SDRAM
ATI Radeon Xpress 200 (128 mb)
openSUSE 10.2 (Bought online from Novell)

ATI Problem:
ATI doesn't have any drivers to support my graphics card on Linux (maybe even on Windows, though I never was quite sure) on a computer that has an IA64 framework. There are drivers for AMD64 and IA32, but not this one. Is there a solution/workaround that will give me full 3D support?

WINE Problem:
WineOn64bit says that I need to install a few packages using YAST as well as the WINE packages. I did that. .exe files still aren't recognized, which might be the reason why they provide another instruction. Running
Code:
./configure --prefix=/usr --x-libraries=/usr/X11R6/lib
doesn't work, even with root access. Any solutions out there or do I need to cd to a certain location first?

Java 1.6 JRE Problem:
A certain developing program's latest build requires the use of the newest beta version of Java. I currently have 1.5 installed, but is there any easy installation guide out there for the newest version? Of course, there might be problems because of my architecture again, but I'm willing to try or wait until it becomes stable.

Thanks for any help.

ATI
look here: http://ati.de/support/drivers/linux6...64-radeon.html -- pay attention to the version of xorg you have running; look at the suse install guide.
and here: http://www.google.com/linux?hl=en&ie=I...amp;btnG=Search for issues others have had.

Wine
Search this forum for "wine" like: http://www.suseforums.net/index.php?showto...531&hl=wine --is one that pops up.

Java
See: http://www.suseforums.net/index.php?showto...789&hl=Java says it better than I could.
If 1.6 isn't here: http://repos.opensuse.org/Java:/ then you will have to get the source from Sun & compile it yourself; then any calls for it will most likely need a <path> command with the call.
