I'm looking for a consolidated list of yast sources for my SuSE 10 64 bit installation - or are the 32 bit sources sufficent? I'd like to update KDE to 3.5 as well as have an installation source (no more CD's), not to mention Packman and Guru and any others that are particularily useful for 64. I could dig around for these myself but I thought this would already be in a wiki or site somewhere - anyway I haven't found it yet.

Here's mine. Choose a local mirror for better speed. Guru does not package x86-64 rpms.

Code:
[x]* SUSE LINUX Version 10.0 (ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/suse/x86_64...x10.0-GM-Extra)
[x]* supplementary KDE 3.5 update (ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/suse/x86_64....0/yast-source)
[x]* supplementary GNOME 2.12 update (ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/suse/x86_64....0/yast-source)
[x]* SUSE LINUX Version 10.0 (http://mirrors.kernel.org/pub/opensu...SS/inst-source)
[x]* SUSE LINUX Version 10.0 (http://mirrors.kernel.org/pub/opensu...st-source-java)
[x]* Packman (SuSE LINUX 10.0) (ftp://ftp4.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/packman/suse/10.0)
[x]* scorot rpms (SUSE LINUX 10.0) (ftp://ftp4.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/suser-scorot/suse100)
[x]* supplementary applications and tools (ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/suse/x86_64....0/yast-source)

Thanks to the ever so helpful harryc.

Tired of clicking around Yast's GUI boxes? In a console users logged in as root can quickly add yast sources by typing (copy and pasting) "installation_sources -a <full URL of Yast Source>".

e.g. Tip taken from susewiki.apanela.com

"Guru does not package x86-64 rpms."

Very true; but, drcux does the guru rpms for x86-64@
http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/su...ux/100/x86_64/

Have fun!

Harry,

Yep! correct again! Always glad to be brought back on-track.

I thought that I had suser-drcux as a Yast-source in my x86-64, so rebooted & found that I did not. I tried all possible combos to install as Yast-source to noavail = missing required/needed Yast directory structure file.

I also searched for it & the only two places I find suser-drcux is SuSE Apt & the above link.

Surely it will pop up one of these days & make life easier for those that don't use Apt.

I guess one could D/L the suser-drcux file tree & make that a yast-source; lots of updating required though to realy be useful. I may do that when I have some spare time; right now, I have a lot of honeydo's to get ready for the Christmas Holiday trip.

Having fun; I am!
