Thanks for your help, but there's no solution to this problem.

There is a solution, you need to use the ndiswrapper. Why do yuo say there is no solution?

Could you then give me instructions how to do it because i couldn't make it work?
Suse froze just like any other method with smp-kernel.
Only way that I am able to get this card work is using the non-smp-kernel which I'm not willing to do.

cor,

Here's what I would like for you to try:

go here: http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m...index.php/List
which is basically a list of ndiswrapper tips & tricks that have worked. Lot's of sucesses.

Look for your card.
Look for rt2500.

In Firefox > edit > Find in this page > down at the bottom of the page, type in smp > click find next > repeat. You should find lots of good stuff that has worked for other people with the smp-kernel.

Let us know how it works out.

Now I've tried ndiswrapper again. I tried it both with the 32/64-bit xp drivers - > no success. Everything works fine with non-smp-kernel. But with the smp-kernel system freezes totally...
I must say that I am pretty frustrated and disappointed...I guess I'm just forced to use xp...

Cor,

The ndiswrapper team is very interested in ndiswrapper's interactions with different kernels. If you are finding that your smp-enabled kernel does not work with ndiswrapper, they would be happy to hear a report from you about it.

If you are willing, please consider e-mailing the mailing list with the steps you took to get ndiswrapper working and why you think it did, or did not work.

This problem isn't ndiswrapper specific for sure.
What I did was: installed windows driver->tried to configure the interface.

"I tried it both with the 32/64-bit xp drivers"

Just curious, are there any windows 64-bit wireless drivers?

cor,

Thanks for pointing me.

found this: "Patch the kernel to remove this WARN_ON which only print a message and nothing else... " forom here: http://61.222.76.235/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?...3c4c03ceb8a9224

Sound like some are getting it to work with smp-kernel.
