What media areyou trying to install from.? Most likely if you are installing from anything other then the retail double layer dvd, you are not installing 64 bit.

If you got 64bit processor, when you insert CD/DVD and boot from one, there is Option in the right-bottom corner to select wheather you want to install 64 bit or 32 bit installation.
Usually, if you got 64bit processor, the default install will be 64bit. Once completed, you can check that by running the command: Code:
~> uname -a |

OpenSuse 10 Beta1 x86-64 is available @ Novell site on CD, if you have to have CDs. Ok to play with, but would not recommend it for serious work!

The mirrors (http://www.opensuse.org/index.php/Mi...rsion#Americas) also list the DVD ISO image (32bit + 64bit, 4,3 GB).
