hello, I am new to openSUSE and KDE (just made the step from windows to linux btw. )i' m having problems with adjusting sound, i think i have to adjust it in KMIX but the problem is that i don' t see a volume adjustment bar and unmuting/muting doesn' t work. When i hover over the icon in the bottom-right i get a little message box saying:" mixer not found". Does somebody know what the problem is, and how to fix it ofcourse! Thanks in forward, Hellbas -- hellbas ------------------------------------------------------------------------ hellbas's Profile: http://forums.novell.com/member.php?userid=20635 View this thread: http://forums.novell.com/showthread.php?t=331665 |

Thanks for replying, ALSA wasn' t installed, i installed it and now everything works. the commands you need to enter from the troubleshouting guide are: rpm -q alsa alsa-utils alsa-firmware if you get then it is not installed (as was in my case xD) alsa-1.0.14-31.2 alsa-utils-1.0.14-27 package alsa-firmware is not installed to install: In openSUSE-10.3, to install alsa-firmware, in a konsole/xterm, type "su" (without quotes) followed by root password to get root permissions in that konsole/xterm, and then to install alsa-firmware type: zypper install alsa-firmware Thanks again, Hellbas -- hellbas ------------------------------------------------------------------------ hellbas's Profile: http://forums.novell.com/member.php?userid=20635 View this thread: http://forums.novell.com/showthread.php?t=331665 |
