I have a Dell XPS M1330 notebook with Intel 3945ABG wireless card (and also tried with the Dell-branded Broadcom card) running openSUSE 10.3. I cannot seem to get WPA, WPA2, or LEAP wireless connections to work via NetworkManager, and I've tested with two different access points from two different vendors. Open wireless and WEP connections do work, but NetworkManager and wpa_supplicant don't seem to be working their magic correctly together. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this and correct the problem? Thanks. -- sipples ------------------------------------------------------------------------ sipples's Profile: http://forums.novell.com/member.php?userid=20231 View this thread: http://forums.novell.com/showthread.php?t=331173 |

Thanks. I have minor hassles with the 3945abg wireless myself - frequently takes a couple of attempts before I get a connection if the initial attempt fails. Biggest cause of misses here is selecting the wrong protocol when entering the key - user error. I use almost exclusively WPA but WPA2 works as well. Never had a chance to specifically try LEAP so I can't say how that works. -- Will Honea |

I should point out that I'm using the iwl3495 (iwlwifi) version of the driver, not the older ipw driver. However, I've tried both, and NetworkManager isn't negotiating WPA, WPA2, or LEAP via wpa_supplicant and the driver it seems. But I don't know exactly how to troubleshoot this. Thanks for any advice. -- sipples ------------------------------------------------------------------------ sipples's Profile: http://forums.novell.com/member.php?userid=20231 View this thread: http://forums.novell.com/showthread.php?t=331173 |
