GIMP 2.5 is out and it wont update.

I click the update link on my version of GIMP (2.2.17) and it wont
update to 2.5.x+ whi is that?

Sorry if I am posting in the wrong area, but I need to know why it
doesn't update.

but may be you can find gimp 2.5 if you select the good repository
(packman??)

Its not that, well maybe it is.....Sorry SuSe, but I might change

Which update link?
How are you trying to update? Yast? Smart? Manually?
Any error messages?

We're not picky, but "general-applications" would have been more appropriate :-)

This piqued my curiosity and so I checked what version I'd got. It turns out
I've 2.4.5 but the latest available, according to YAST, was 2.4.0.

2.4.0 is in the stable Gnome repository,
http://download.opensuse.org/reposit...openSUSE_10.3/,
whereas 2.4.5 is in the community repository,
http://download.opensuse.org/reposit...openSUSE_10.3/,
which also contains something called gimp.ymp which is 2.4 - 0 or 5 I know
not. The latest version in the unstable repository is 2.4.0.

Confused? You will be!

I don't see 2.5 anywhere.

2.4.0 is in the stable Gnome repository,

I wouldn't advise leaving the latter repository "enabled" after updating
GIMP as it contains some rather flaky items.
