Just a hint in case anyone else gets bitten:
The upgrade to OpenOffice.org 2.4 offered by the suseupdater last night on my openSUSE 10.3 machines could not be installed. It complained about a conflict with OpenOffice_de 2.3, and when I allowed it to uninstall that, went on to tell me the package not only conflicting, but required at the same time, which effectively prevented installation of the patch. (My impression, from memory. I tried to find the details again in the YaST logs but failed.) The solution was to run regular YaST Software Installation and update the OpenOffice packages from there. The packages for which there is a newer version available are helpfully shown in blue. Just klicked them all, accepted, and the update went without any problem. Now the updater icon is happily green again. Hope that helps someone. T. PS: A big hello to Mr. or Ms. Automatic Reply. :-) |

No problem with installation - as you also found. Odd as to why Suseupdater misbehaved. Sorry for screwing a visit from Mr/s Automatic Reply. -- Graham P Davis, Bracknell, Berks., UK. When it tells me that I have a bazillion updates available, I shut it down and use Yast. |
