Hi All, I installed KDE4.0.3 on an original Gnome2.20/Opensuse10.3x_64 installation and now when I start a session w/ KDE4, the original Gnome Panel still opens in my KDE4 workspace I already have set the session to KDE4 at the login and also changed the display manager to kdm from gdm on the sysconfig editior How can this be corrected????? -- outside_n_wnc ------------------------------------------------------------------------ outside_n_wnc's Profile: http://forums.novell.com/member.php?userid=14398 View this thread: http://forums.novell.com/showthread.php?t=324351 |

I've found that the desktop you choose when you first login tends to be
pretty persistent. If you want to play with KDE4, you might want to create another user. That way you don't have to worry about previous session type residue, and you have a known good config you can fall back on if things don't work out with kde4. Off-topic...I'm not much of a gnome fan, but I wouldn't recommend kde4 until 4.1 is released. It might be ok to play with to get an idea of their approach, but I tried it and I don't consider it usable at this stage. And this coming from a die-hard kde user.... -jt On Tue, 15 Apr 2008 23:26:02 +0000, outside n wnc wrote: > > Hi All, > > I installed KDE4.0.3 on an original Gnome2.20/Opensuse10.3x_64 > installation and now when I start a session w/ KDE4, the original Gnome > Panel still opens in my KDE4 workspace > > I already have set the session to KDE4 at the login and also changed the > display manager to kdm from gdm on the sysconfig editior > > How can this be corrected????? |
