Kinternet not in task bar

Hi

I use suse 10.3
Kinternet does not appear in the task bar. When i clic on Kinternet in
the kde menu i got an error message so i can't use kinternet
"KInternet tourne déjà. Ceci est symbolisé par la petite icône
représentant un connecteur dans votre tableau de bord."

translation : kinternet is running it is a small icon in the task bar
!!!!

any dea ?

I have killed the kinternet process , launch again kinternet but it
doesn't appear in task bar and when i clic again on kinternet i got the
same error message. so Kinternet is running but not in the task bar so
can't use it ?

Is your user a member of the group 'dialout' is smpppd service installed
and running?

You haven't configure the taskbar not to show it somehow in personal
settings?

What happens if you start it (kinternet) from the CLI, see any errors?

Strange, it should open KSysGuard with the process manager.

Any reason to use KInternet at all, BTW? KNetworkmanager is so much better IMHO.

Well I use to Kinternet since long time and tried knetworkmanager but
found it buggy. With the update to 10.3 i will see again. any way i
don't undestand why I can't use kinternet.

well, it was just an idea. I use(d) it for various WiFi connections, cable connections and DSL dial up and it always worked fine in Opensuse 10.3.

You could start a new thread for this and we could see which one wins :-)
