Default The Latest Kernel


Is there anyone know what's the latest kernel available for opensuse ?
Coz I heard the latest version kernel for linux is 2.6.24.4.

There is something called "kernel of the day" (kotd). I guess that would
be the latest kernel available *from* openSUSE, if that's what you mean.

Nah, 2.6.24.4 is just the latest *stable* kernel. The latest *mainline*
kernel would be either git-current (constantly changing),
2.6.25-rc7-git5 (latest git snapshot as of now, might already be a
newer one by the time you read this) or 2.6.25-rc7 (if you want to
ignore git snapshots). And then there are all those non-mainline
variants, like -mm, -rt, -next, or the various developer trees. All
those are "available" for openSUSE - you just have to download and
compile them.
