Default Firefox smashes Cups!

After I installed 10.2 I Got my printer working with no trouble. However,
when I tried printing from Firefox, nothing happened. I then tried another
program that I knew had worked in the past. It failed. I looked at the CUPS
error log and found that ownership of some files had been changed.

As root, I checked the CUPS files and saw that although most were owned
by "root", ownership of some was "lp" and some were owned by "root" in
group "lp". I changed ownership and group in all cases to "root" although I
knew this was overkill and only three or four files were causing the
problem.

I remembered that there used to be instructions that Firefox should first be
run as "root", so I started Firefox and printed off a page OK. I then
left "root" and tried printing from Firefox as a normal user. All OK. I see
now that some files have returned to the "lp" group but none are owned
by "lp".

I've not seen this behaviour by Firefox before. Is it a bug and, if so, what
in?

As I say, I seem to have sorted the problem -touch wood - but someone else
might fall foul of it.
