Suse 10.1 and HP laserjet 4

The setup I have worked fine with 9.3 but when I installed 10.1 The
printer gets an error 22 and will not print. I need help please.

Chuck are you using Cups? I don't have a laser jet four but my IIIP works
fine on SUSE 10.0. HP LASERJET error 22:

Error 22 I/O Configuration
Printer or computer I/O configuration is incorrect
I/O cable is wrong or damaged
The computer is switched off
I/O port on printer is damaged. Replace the formatter.

above is what googling shows up. Check your parallel cable, etc.

Yes I am using Cups and the printer works fine when I boot the computer
with Knoppix
